Not too early to start thinking about Oktoberfest.  Visit the Little German Band's home page at http://prosit.org to make your plans for this September and October.

The Weeping Radish in Manteo would make a great little beer vacation weekend the weekend after Labor Day (Sept 5-6) btw.

I bet that would be a nice place to drink beer outside.  The only time I've been the weather was crappy.

I don't think I'll be making the trip for oktoberfest, but I can't find any flaw in your statement! :)
