WANTED: Shish Kabob recipe

I've go a hankerin to make some kabobs for grilling, probably beef based.  None of my (mostly vegetarian) cookbooks cover this topic.  Anyone have a good recipe they could share?

Whatever you do, be sure to put things that cook at the same rate on the same skewer.  Keep the meat and the veggies separate.
