Anybody been to this place on Capital in Raleigh? http://www.hideawaybbq.com/ The woman who used to book the Pour House is there and doing a great job getting some GOOD country (edgy/alt) in.

Any food/beer opinions?  I might have one after tonight.

BUMP

Anyone been to report on Hideaway's beer selection?  I called them today and asked what they had on draft.  "Bud, Bud Light, Miller, Miller Lite, Widmer, Red Hook, and our spring seasonal."

I don't know what "Our Spring Seasonal" is, but is the beer selection really that mainstream?  Any reports?  And what's with alt.country serving nearly 100% inc.corp beer?

Yeah, its that bad/mainstream.  In bottles you can have Sierra or Yuengling.  I heard the manager frequents Horniblows, but for some reason, hasn't broadened their beer selection.  Its WAY more than an alt.country place too...Larry Keel Thursday, Marshall Crenshaw a few weeks ago...

I know the manager, here is his response to this thread:

We are tuning up the beer list all the time but our sales figures really
show demographic loves corp beers we sell a TON of PBR (to the rockabilly
crowd) and sweet tea to the bluegrass folks and jack daniels to the shit
kickers, that being said we keep Widmer,Red Hook, and a CBC seasonal, on tap and sell a number of red stripe and sierrra navada in bottles.
I brew, therefore, I have homebrew.

yeah, the demographic will drink what they have.  if they improve their selection maybe they'll see sales of those beers!  bluegrass fans & crunchies i know like good beer.  hipsters are all over the pbr, though, that is a fact.

I can confirm the CBC spring bock for $3.75 a pint.
