There is a big hullabaloo about this year's poll... Apparently Portland became disillusioned about losing to Asheville the last few years so threw the poll (by voting for Asheville) in hopes that the poll would be such a landslide that it would be discredited. Looks like that may have happened as Asheville won by a landslide with 46% of the votes...

Its not a scientific poll but I think it does measure enthusiasm and shows that west coasters don't respond well when their traditional belief that the west is the best is challenged.

Good Vibes Brew is now available on draft in various locations in Wilmington. You can also find it at Milner's in Winston-Salem, and Revolution Pizza and Crown Station Pub in Charlotte. The inaugural beer is called "The Experience" but in Charlotte its known as "Hippie Killer."

Its an 8% Imperial Pale Ale. Medium dry-hopped for a pleasant aroma. Smooth drinking with moderate carbonation and bitterness. Finishes clean. The Experience is an easy-drinking and refreshing high-gravity choice. Look for the blown-glass tap handles.

By the way, in the interest of full-disclosure, yes, I am connected with the brewery. It is under a contract brewing agreement with Thomas Creek in Greenville, SC. The Kerr avenue address is an office. We are hoping to have an actual brewery in Wilmington by the end of the summer.

Thanks everyone for supporting the movement which is making NC the best state in the nation for Dank Beers!
